Hubert and Beatrice Williams

The parents of Martha, Jim, and Steve Williams are Hubert E. and Beatrice M. (Black) Williams. They have lived in northeast Arkansas since 1936 with the exception of a brief time when Hubert attended the seminary in Texas.  Hubert  served as pastor of several Baptist churches, and in 1941 founded Southern Baptist College which was renamed Williams Baptist College at the 50th anniversary of its founding.  He served as president of SBC for 32 years.  Beatrice taught in the public schools several years and has been involved in a variety of work in the life of the college.  Hubert and Beatrice celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in January, 1994. They reside on the campus of W.B.C. and remain active in the life of the college, their church and in pursuit of personal interests such as printing, writing, reading, etc.  Hubert and Beatrice have four grand-children and three great-grandchildren as of this writing in 1994.
